Barcelona - Metro: Historic line names:
L1: Transversal (built by Ferrocarril Metropolitano Transversal de Barcelona). Construction started 1920, first segment opened
L3: Gran Metro (built by Gran Metro de Barcelona).
L5: Formerly L2 and known as Horta.
L6 and L7: Operated by FGC as part of its Vallès network and known as Sarrià.
L8 is operated by FGC as part of its Llobregat network. L11, "light metro," was opened on 2003 December 14.
